To complement her character’s depth, Sheehan is a delight to watch on the stage. She shifts from comedy to drama easily and lives up to Dresser’s expectations that this be “Jean’s play” He revealed that it was important to him that Jean have a hopeful ending. Sheehan’s enamoring performance leads the audience to wish for that as well.

Now is the ideal time for New Jersey theatergoers to become acquainted with Bev Sheehan. The gifted actress has been delivering superb performances all over the state for more than a decade. And in “Miss Witherspoon”, she reaches her apotheosis.

In the end, it’s Sheehan’s show. The lady has had a stellar career as a voiceover artist for the past few decades. You’ve probably heard her in quite a few commercials without ever getting to view her face.

So now’s the time to see, as well as hear, Sheehan—not to mention admire her. This “Miss” is a hit.

Bev Sheehan—the state’s best at dispensing dry humor—has the right level of acid for a person who’s skeptical of life.

BETTY’S SUMMER VACATION

(click to flip!)

The comic performance of the year comes from Bev Sheehan as Mrs. Siezmagraff. She’s so wonderfully matter-of-fact about each atrocity that comes her way, rolling her eyes heavenward and chiding Betty with an exasperated “If you keep over-reacting to every little thing”—though they’ve both seen crimes that could easily get 12 to 15 consecutive life-sentences.

Sheehan’s apotheosis comes in the second act, when she coaches two of the criminals how to get off in a mock-trial she conducts. She plays the prosecutor, a witness, and herself, jumping in and out of a chair, using three distinctly different voices, and doing it all without beginning to break a sweat. It’s a performance that must be seen to be believed.

RISING WATER

"Under John Pietrowski's sure handed, unobtrusive direction, Beverly Sheehan and Jim Ligon fully bring out all the humanity and individuality with

which Biguenet has imbued Camille and Sug. Sheehan delicately reveals an inner beauty, tenderness and loving nature. This makes us feel how

lucky Sug has been to have had Camille for his wife, as well as how fortunate we are to have had Sheehan in our presence tonight." - Bob Rendell, Talkin' Broadway
